Snapshots of Opening Day, Oakland A's, April 2, 2014

For the past few years, my wife and I, along with our friends the Tennants, have been guests at the Oakland A's opening game which includes a pre-game food and wine fest two hours before the first pitch. Our hosts are Mike and Kathy Crowley, Mike being my former third baseman back in the day and current team president of the A's. This year both the Crowley girls, Paige and Meigan, were in attendance as well. With seats right behind the A's dugout, we were sitting in the Catbird Seat for sure. The bottom photo shows Paige posing with the famous Banjo Man who attends every home game and strums the thing tunelessly but enthusiastically almost non-stop. Paige jumped up from her seat and went down a few rows to visit with him when he sat down for a break. Above that is the crowd welcoming former A's great Ricky Henderson when he was honored before the game.
