Cats in Essaouria, Morocco

My wife and I just returned from a two-week tour of Morocco with our colleague and friend Dudley. We had an outstanding guide and driver, Najib Tyouss, who made everything function like a dream. Many thanks Najib for your patience and friendliness, as well as your encyclopedic knowledge of all things Moroccan. This first post is a series of cats doing what cats do...basically nothing. They are ubiquitous in Morocco, but seemingly more so in Essaouria, a coastal city that was a delight after the heat of the interior. Morocco is culturally fascinating in so many ways. We were there at the onset of Ramadan, about which we learned a great deal from Najib, a Berber Muslim. All photographs taken with the Sony NEX 7 and 18-200 lens.
