So, after a four hour flight to Chicago, a one hour flight to Toronto the next morning, a ten hour jaunt to Cairo and, finally, a six hour plane ride to Casablanca, we were finally in Morocco. We stayed awake to wait for our friend Dudley who was joining us for our tour of Morocco, and after a nice dinner, we met him at our hotel. The next morning, our guide Najib took us to the mosque, the only one open to visit in the country. A really spectacular space! Then it was a drive down the seaside, and later, a walk around the city. Not that I would necessarily recommend Casablanca as a destination for prospective Moroccan visitors, but it was nice not to have to worry about seeing anything too overwhelming on our first couple of days.
