La Boqueria, on the Ramblas in Barcelona, is a spectacular foodies destination. I regret that I had only an hour there, but I was mesmerized by every stall and every vendor, not to mention the numerous restaurants scattered throughout the huge covered building. My favorite photograph is the bottom one where a fairly large crustacean was trying to make a getaway before it became a meal, coming right at me like I might save it. This is in 2006 on a one day cruise stopover. Access to the city from a cruise ship is incredibly easy, maybe a fifteen minute walk to the bottom of the Ramblas at the statue of Christopher Columbus.
