San Francisco has been one of the most photographed and recognizable cities in the word. Until recently, I had been taking this place for granted. What was I thinking? In the past year and a half, I have made a concerted effort to correct that oversight. These photos are from two of the trips made with friends to work with long exposures (30 seconds), low isos (200 or lower), and small apertures (18-22). The top picture was taken about 8:30, the middle one of Lombard Street at about 10:00 pm, and the Bay Bridge close to midnight. The Golden Gate Bridge presents the biggest challenge because of high winds. On Lombard Street one has to be wary of cars and taxis, and on the Embarcadero, skateboarders and muggers.
